How to Become a Member of Palmdale Presbyterian Church
Here at Palmdale Presbyterian Church we welcome newcomers with open arms and invite each one to find a place to call "home," within the warm embrace of our "church family"!
Anyone who professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior may become a member of Palmdale Presbyterian Church.
Membership is not predicated on how much one knows but on the sincerity of his/her faith. Learning what it means to be a Christian and a church member becomes a life-long process of sharing, growing, and serving together.
There are three ways to join the church: 1) By profession of faith; 2) By reaffirmation of faith; and 3) By Letter of Transfer from another church.
New members are received two times a year upon completion of the Seekers Class.
The Seekers Class is designed for persons interested in exploring the nature of Christian faith and/or membership in Palmdale Presbyterian Church. The class sessions include a review of core Christian Doctrine, key tenets of Reformed Faith, an overview of Worship and the Sacraments, an in-depth look at The Palmdale Presbyterian Church's Mission and Ministry, an examination of the meaning of Faith and Membership, and a history of Palmdale Presbyterian Church.
The Seekers Class is offered as a four-week course taught on Sunday mornings at 9:30 for an hour at a time. Participants in the Seekers Classes are welcomed into the life of the congregation on special Sundays that include a festive new members social, a meeting with the Session and special recognition during the worship service.
To indicate interest in membership in Palmdale Presbyterian Church, please speak to Pastor Mike Andrews or Mrs. Cathy Hemmenway at the church office 321-254-4163, or indicate your desire using the friendship pad located in each church pew by checking off, "I am considering membership in this church."
